Using the Schedule of Classes

SECTION LEGEND

The following lettering codes in the Section number of a course indicate a special designation as explained below:

C	Clinical	A form of laboratory instructional delivery which is applicable to many health and human service programs and may occur in a facility that provides professional clinical services to the public.
L	Laboratory	Courses in which students will be carrying out experiments, perfecting skills, or practicing activities under the direction of a faculty member.
P	Learning Community Block	A Learning Community Block consists of two or more classes that are grouped together and taught in a coordinated fashion. The material covered in each class reinforces concepts and skills learned in other classes in the block.
R	Recitation	The part of the course designed to review lecture and expand concepts of the lecture course.
T	ITV	Courses delivered through compressed video from one campus location to other campus locations.
Z	Web KYVU	A class offered by the Kentucky Virtual University that has no more than two proctored exams.

INSTRUCTION MODE LEGEND

The following lettering codes indicate the different types of instruction modes (delivery systems) for courses:

BI	ITV Web Enhanced	Courses delivered through compressed video from one campus location to other campus locations and uses the Internet to supplement instruction.
HI	ITV Web Hybrid	Courses delivered through compressed video from one campus location to other campus locations and meets approximately 50% at the campus location and 50% on-line.
IS	Independent Study	A contract course by approval of faculty member and division chair only.
P	In Person	A course offered by traditional classroom instruction.
HB	In Person Web Hybrid	A class that meets approximately 50% at the campus location and 50% on-line.
BE / BP	Web Enhanced	A class that meets regularly at the campus location and uses the Internet to supplement instruction.
BL	Web Local	A class offered for local area with no more than two proctored exams required to be done at the campus location.
BW	Web KYVU	A class offered by the Kentucky Virtual University that has no more than two proctored exams.
