Phase
I of The Kentucky School of Craft is housed in a 25,000 square foot
historic building which has been completely renovated. The original
building housed Hindman High School and was originally dedicated
in 1931. Phase
II construction/renovation will involve studios for Ceramic (Fall
2007), Blacksmithing and Fibers.

Floor
Wood Studio - over 5,200 square feet including - two faculty
office/ studios, tool room, spray/finishing room, tool room and
a completely equipped, fully ventilated studio teaching space accommodating
15 students.
Exhibition
Hall - approximately 1,000 square feet of gathering/exhibition
space.
Administrative
Offices/Classrooms - over 2700 square feet of space including
- 4 staff offices, conference/seminar room, and additional classroom.
Community
Room - 735 square feet designed as a student lounge/snack
area.
Inner
Court Yard - over 2500 square feet of open-air, court yard
space with
grass, decorative plantings, and benches.
First
Floor Addition - 2000 square feet of space includes student
lockers, restroom facilities, mechanical/electrical rooms, stairways
and elevator.
Second Floor
Jewelry/Metalsmithing
Studio - over 4,500 square feet including - two faculty
office/studio spaces, a 1200 sq. ft., completely equipped bench
area for 15 students with individual air ventilation at each station,
a 775 sq. ft. room for metal forming, 680 sq. ft. room for soldering
and casting, 440 sq. ft. lecture/design room plus additional separate
rooms for polishing, plating/etching and enameling.
Photo Studio - 450 sq. ft. space for 35mm slide and digital
studio photography.
Multi-Purpose
Classroom(s)- over 960 sq. ft. of additional classroom
space.
Second
Floor Addition - 2000 square feet of space includes student
lockers, restroom facilities, mechanical/electrical rooms, stairways
and elevator.
