Selecting Your Online Learning Textbooks
If you are a Learn By Term student, please read the textbook procedures listed to ensure that your book order can be processed as quickly and efficiently as possible. If the Online Learning class you have registered for is being offered locally at your college, you can check with your local KCTCS bookstore first to get quicker access to your textbook and any required supplies.
If you are a Learn On Demand student, most required texts will be available in the course on your start date. Most Learn on Demand courses uses digital content which is added to your bill as an eRequired Resource fee along with your tuition cost so you do not have to contact or visit the bookstore. However some specialized programs, such as Nursing and Medical Information Technology, may require hard copy texts. In these instances, you would need to visit the

Ordering Textbooks Just Got Easier for Online Classes, Learn By Term Online Textbook Orders
Procedure for KCTCS Online Textbooks
Select KCTCS Distance Learning in the Select Bookstore dropdown
Select your term (example Fall 2009)
Select your Department (example ENG or MT)
Select your Course (example 101, 102, 181)
Select your Section (example B5Z1, 15Z1)
Click on Continue
Click on View Textbook List
Click on New or Used and then add to Cart
Click on Continuing Shopping or if finished then click Checkout
Click on Register if you have not registered before. If already registered then Log in
Make sure you use a active e-mail address
Select your shipping method
Select the method of payment
Click on Submit
Verify you order and click on Place Order
Then print your Confirmation Order
You will receive a Confirmation Email with Tracking Number when you order is shipped
If no book is listed or available for your class, reasons may include:
A book may not be required for the class. If you have questions contact the instructor.
The Online Learning Bookstore has not yet received an order from the faculty member for a book.
The Online Learning class is being offered locally and the book is available at the local KCTCS bookstore.
The class you are searching for is not an Online Learning class and the book is available at the local KCTCS bookstore.

When utilizing Student Financial Aid, your Student Financial Aid Release (FAR) form must be signed within your Student Self-Service account. The bookstore charge period for financial aid recipients opens 10 days prior to the start of classes. You may place your book order at any time; however, it will not be shipped until financial aid eligibility is authorized. This authorization may be delayed for numerous reasons, including the FAR form not being signed, SAP review, or federal verification. You will receive a confirmation email with tracking number when your order is shipped from the bookstore. Please check with your financial aid office if you have any questions concerning your financial aid.
To Order by Telephone If You Are Paying by Check for KCTCS Online Classes
For a full refund on textbooks, the textbooks must be returned within the first week of class along with your receipt. Shrink-wrapped items and/or software must be unopened. You can take your book(s) to your home campus bookstore for a refund or ship the book(s) back to the Ashland Community & Technical College Bookstore at 902 Technology Drive, Grayson, KY 41143-9500.
