Cortney advising a student

Advising and Registration

Career, College & Life Planning Center (Advising)

Our Career, College and Life Planning Center counselors and advisors will help you:

  • Assess your skills and interests to determine the program of study best suited to you, allowing you to select an appropriate major
  • Learn about HCTC services and programs
  • Identify college procedures, and help you move through the process smoothly
  • Obtain up-to-date information about requirements for HCTC programs and degrees
  • Plan course schedules to meet personal needs and program requirements
  • Solve scheduling difficulties or problems
  • Identify ways to do well in class and feel satisfied about school through our New Student Orientation

The HCTC Financial Aid department provides information on federal and state grants, work-study opportunities, loan programs, scholarships and payment plans.  Student needs and situations often change over time... We recommend that you talk with an advisor at least once each semester to continue planning your educational and career course.
