Hazard Community & Technical College encourages professional and organizational development for all employees.  Professional development activities are provided at the College. Employees are also encouraged to seek out their own professional development opportunities.

A Professional Development Committee comprised of faculty, staff, and adminstrators working together to deliver professional development offerings locally. Committee members for the 2008-09 academic year are as follows:

HCTC has designated the following dates as professional development days for employees.  General themes for each date have been identified as follows:

 

August 5, 2008                        Fall Start Up  - "Getting to Know the New Us" (all college attendance required)

September 10, 2008               Technology Updates

October 24, 2008                    Strategic Planning - The New Way (all college attendance required)

November 21, 2008                Multiple presentations by 2008 New Horizon's and NISOD Attendees

January 31, 2009                    Spring Start Up  (all college attendance required)

February 27, 2009                  Health and Safety Awareness

April 17, 2009                           HCTC Spring Teaching & Learning Conference

Activities/workshops for these dates will be scheduled by the Professional Development Committee members listed above. If you would like to make a presentation related to the general theme of the day, contact one of the PD Committee members.

 

The Human Resources Office has created a Professional Development Library containing books, videos, tape series, and CD's related to various topics.  Items may be checked out of the PD Library for personal professional development.  Below is a list of available items:
