addition to the general admission requirement, every non-resident
alien applicant must meet the overall requirements, standards and
guidelines of local and national immigration laws and regulations
in order to be granted student visa status.
International
students must submit the following in addition to the general admission
requirements:
Original or certified copies of secondary school and college transcripts
accompanied by an official translation in English. Course description
may also be required.
Results of the test in English as a Foreign Language (TOEPL) Test.
The results must be received by mail from the testing company. A
photo copy of report may be used temporarily. To list Hazard
Community & Technical College as a testing recipient, please
use school code 2143 and we will receive your scores electronically
when test is taken.
Health insurance must be up-to-date.
Proof of means of financial support for at least one year. Generally,
a letter from the foreign bank or bank statement certifying that
sufficient funds are available.
A statement from a private sponsor guaranteeing that the student's
expenses will be paid for one year. Government or organizations
sponsors should send a separate letter explaining the terms of their
sponsorship.
A photo copy of the student's visa.
The
I-20 may be issued after all requirements have been met. Students
who have a student visa must be full-time. |
