International Students

Campus Tours

In addition to the general admission requirement, every non-resident alien applicant must meet the overall requirements, standards and guidelines of local and national immigration laws and regulations in order to be granted student visa status.

International students must submit the following in addition to the general admission requirements:

•  Original or certified copies of secondary school and college transcripts accompanied by an official translation in English. Course description may also be required.

•  Results of the test in English as a Foreign Language (TOEPL) Test. The results must be received by mail from the testing company. A photo copy of report may be used temporarily.  To list Hazard Community & Technical College as a testing recipient, please use school code 2143 and we will receive your scores electronically when test is taken.

•  Health insurance must be up-to-date.

•  Proof of means of financial support for at least one year. Generally, a letter from the foreign bank or bank statement certifying that sufficient funds are available.

•  A statement from a private sponsor guaranteeing that the student's expenses will be paid for one year. Government or organizations sponsors should send a separate letter explaining the terms of their sponsorship.

•  A photo copy of the student's visa.

The I-20 may be issued after all requirements have been met. Students who have a student visa must be full-time.
