To increase retention and graduation rates of eligible students

To increase the transfer rate of eligible students from two-year to four-year institutions

To foster an institutional climate supportive of the success of low-income and first generation college students and individuals with disabilities.

First generation (neither parent graduated from a four-year college)

Low income

Disabled

All applicants must have an academic need

While the "official purpose" of SSS is to increase retention, graduation and/or transfer rates for SSS participants, as stated above, that purpose too narrowly limits the vision of SSS.

Student Support Services will maintain a supportive environment that address the needs of the whole student while promoting personal empowerment and the development of independent, internally motivated, life-long learners.
